SAN FRANCISCO - MARCH 19TH, 2024 - Stardust, the Web3 gaming infrastructure and user acquisition service provider, today announced a strategic technical partnership with Shrapnel, the highly-anticipated AAA first-person extraction shooter. The integration of Stardust’s Wallets-as-a-Service (WaaS) product is currently being leveraged in the tech stack across the Shrapnel title as well as Neon Machine’s game development platform, Mercury.
The process of accessing and managing a wallet can be daunting to many players unfamiliar with blockchain technology. Stardust’s WaaS empowers Shrapnel with invisible, custodial wallets allowing players to enjoy a seamless game experience while heavily leveraging the underlying Shrapnel subnet. Shrapnel has their own Subnet on Avalanche as well as their own token and an array of game NFTs.
Spun out from HBO Interactive, Shrapnel is being developed by a BAFTA and Emmy award-winning team of game industry veterans with unmatched experience in transmedia, virtual production, gaming-as-a-service, and blockchain production. The game is currently available in early access on the Epic Games Store. With a seasoned team of veterans across game development and blockchain, Shrapnel is building deep blockchain functionality underneath their AAA quality game experience.
